PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested by a Mason County sheriff’s deputy after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on US 10 and attempting to flee the scene Thursday, April 23, around 1:30 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“He was located in the parking lot by a deputy, and he then resisted attempts by the deputy to take him into custody,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. “He was also wanted out of Mason County on an outstanding retail fraud warrant.”
The man was charged with retail fraud and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, said Sheriff Cole. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

- 7:20 p.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Scottville woman was arrested on an outstanding Ottawa County failure to appear warrant following a traffic stop, US 10 and Tuttle Road, Custer Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 11:35 p.m., (MCSO), a 36-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, US 31 and Hansen Road, Amber Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

- 7:04 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Stiles Road, Amber Township.
Thursday, April 23, 2026:
- 8:14 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, Free Soil and Tubbs roads, Free Soil Township.
- 7:25 p.m., (LPD), a 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested in Legacy Plaza for a warrant issued in Manistee County. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 8:17 p.m., (LPD), a 45-year-old Ludington man was arrested in the 200 block of South Harrison Street for a failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
Friday, April 24, 2026:
- 4:44 a.m., (LPD), a 41-year-old Lincoln Park woman was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated and transporting open intoxicants following a traffic stop near Pere Marquette Highway and Harrison Street. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 6:17 a.m., (LPD) a 35-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for domestic assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm while intoxicated following a 911 call in the 600 block of New William Street. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
