LUDINGTON — As the Ludington Area School District enters the final stage of its superintendent search, the Board of Education is inviting the public to participate in the selection process.

Jonathon Wennstrom
A public meet and greet with the two finalists will take place Tuesday, April 21, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Ludington Elementary School cafeteria. The event will allow community members to meet the candidates in an informal setting prior to formal interviews.
Following a brief dinner break, interviews will be held in the O.J. DeJonge Media Center. Jonathan Wennstrom will interview at 6 p.m., followed by Travis Walker at 7:15 p.m.
The Board of Education is expected to begin deliberations on selecting the district’s next superintendent immediately after the interviews.
“We encourage all community members, parents, and staff to join us for this important step in shaping the future of our schools,” the board said in a statement. “The feedback we receive from the community is essential as we move toward selecting the right leader for our district.”
The board narrowed the search to two candidates in March following an initial round of interviews.

Travis Walker
Wennstrom, a Mason County Central High School graduate who grew up in Amber Township, currently serves as an elementary principal with Livonia Public Schools. He has worked in that district since 2012 and brings more than two decades of experience in education, including roles as a principal, chief academic officer and higher education instructor.
Walker, a Manistee High School graduate who grew up in Filer Township, is superintendent of Brandywine Community Schools, a position he has held since 2022. His previous experience includes serving as a middle school principal, high school principal, teacher and instructional coach in West Michigan.
The superintendent position became available following the resignation of Dr. Kyle Corlett in December. The district has indicated it aims to have a new superintendent in place by July 1.
