Sheriff Kim Cole

LANSING — Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole was the featured speaker Sunday, May 25, during the Rolling Thunder Annual Ride for Freedom gathering at the Michigan Capitol. The gathering honored families of prisoners of war, military personnel missing in action and Gold Star families. Joining Sheriff Cole was Ludington High School student Sawyer Henrickson of Miss Sawyer’s Kids with a Cause.

During his address, Cole talked about Army Specialist Joe Lancour, a Ludington High School graduate who died while serving the U.S. in Afghanistan on Nov. 10, 2007.

He also talked about the death of Sgt. Troy S. Knutson-Collins of Battle Creek, who died during a training incident last month in Lithuania.

Cole said he was honored and humbled to be asked to give the speech.
