Woman cited for ninth suspended license charge

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 51-year-old Ludington woman was cited by a Mason County sheriff’s deputy for a charge of ninth-offense driving while license suspended following a traffic stop Sunday, Feb. 2, around 12:30 p.m. on Jebavy Drive near Rasmussen Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, Jan. 31, 2025:

  • 7:59 a.m., (Mason County sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 9:33 a.m., (MCSO), a 29-year-old Fountain man was arrested for probation violation following a traffic stop, US 31 south of Decker Road, Amber Township.
  • 4:13 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Brye Road, Amber Township.
  • 7:19 p.m., (MCSO), a 27-year-old Manistee woman was arrested on two outstanding Muskegon County warrants on charges of failure to appear and contempt of court, 1500 block of West Countyline Road, Grant Township.

Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025:

  • 1:42 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of Meisenheimer Road, Summit Township.
  • 6:14 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 north of US 10, Amber Township.
  • 6:35 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 east of Poplar Road, Custer Township.
  • 7:23 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 67-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while intoxicated after being stopped by an officer for driving the wrong way on a one-way street, in the area of Danaher and Rowe streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025:

  • 3:20 p.m., (MCSO), a 20-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for probation violation after deputies responded to a call related to threats being made, 5500 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect was on probation, and a stipulation of that probation was no threatening behavior. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 9:35 p.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Clinton Township man turned himself in on a probation violation warrant at the sheriff’s office, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
