Donna attended Western Michigan College of Education (now Western Michigan University) where she earned her degree in teaching. She started her teaching career as a fifth-grade teacher in the Owosso Public School District. She eventually moved into the junior high where she taught home economics and reading. She and Al were members of the American Legion and the Elks, which they frequently attended.

Al and Donna built their retirement home in Hamlin Township and moved there from Owosso in 1986. Donna loved to play bridge and taught her neighbors so she could continue to play. She made dozens of quilts and baby blankets for family and friends over the years. She loved to read novels and completed many coloring books over the past few years. Donna was known to have a nightly Miller Genuine Draft.

Donna is survived by her sons, Alan, Douglas and Bruce Boulee, and daughter Jill Verbeke.
