Man found unconscious behind the wheel arrested for OWI

AMBER TOWNSHIP — A 37-year-old Scottville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated by Mason County sheriff’s deputies Sunday, Aug. 18, shortly before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Conrad and Amber roads “following a 911 call reporting a person unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle sitting in the roadway, running while in gear,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024:

  • 12:21 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:24 p.m., (MCSO), a 62-year-old Union Grove, Wisconsin woman received minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash, Pere Marquette Highway south of US 10, Pere Marquette Township.

Friday, Aug. 16, 2024:

  • 4:32 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, Hansen Road east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.
  • 9:15 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road north of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
  • 9:13 p.m., (MCSO) one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 10:04 p.m. (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of the Conrad Road overpass, Amber Township.
  • 10:21 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of the Conrad Road overpass, Amber Township.

Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024:

  • 12:27 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 31-year-old Owosso, Michigan man was arrested for two warrants — one issued by Manistee County’s 85th District Court one issued by the Bay County Sheriff’s Department — following a call of a suspicious person, 200 block of West Fitch Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County jail awaiting Manistee County authorities to come and take him into custody.
  • 12:51 a.m.,  (MCSO), ​a 25-year-old Clarkston, Michigan man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township.
  • 11 a.m., (LPD), a 23-year-old homeless man was cited for camping in Waterfront Park, City of Ludington.
  • 6:10 p.m., (MCSO), a 19-year-old Fountain man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting a disturbance, 1700 block of North Tallman Lake Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 6:50 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Fountain and Angling roads, Victory Township.

Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024:

  • 1:17 a.m., (LPD), a 60-year-old Ludington man was arrested for public intoxication, 200 block of South James Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 12:34 p.m., (MCSO), ​two-vehicle crash, US 10 west of the US 31 off-ramp, Amber Township. Both drivers — a 46-year-old Shelby woman and a 58-year-old Branch woman — received minor injuries.
