Carol Kistler

Carol (Larson) Kistler, 71, of Pentwater, passed away on August 5, 2024.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born February 1, 1953, in Ludington, to Wilton and Muriel Larson.

On July 28, 1973, Carol married the love of her life, Mike Kistler, in Pentwater.

Carol worked at the Oceana Medical Care Facility in Hart, for 34 years.  She loved her residents and treated them like family.  This is where she met her “soul-sister” Pat Wilkinson.

Carol had a great many friends including life-long friend, Jan Greene.

Carol was the heart and soul of her home and family.  She and Mike raised three children, Jamie, Holly and Ali in a happy, fun and loving home.  She was also an amazing grandmother.  She was the fiercest supporter in all of their activities including sports, theater, dance and more.   She never missed a game or event.  She instilled confidence into each of them with her uplifting words, huge smile and contagious laugh.

Carol had an undying love for Pepsi, The Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger!

Carol is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Jamie (Jamey) Kistler; daughter, Holly (Niall) Fortune; daughter, Ali (Andy) Oomen; grandchildren Finley Kistler, River Kistler, Kyle Oomen, Kayla Oomen, Jordan Self, Job (Grace) Self and Jade Self; and brother, Richard Larson.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Wilton and Muriel Larson; In-Laws, Bud and Margaret Kistler and very special cousins, Audrey and Kermit Rodewald.

At Carol’s request, there will be no services.  Put on a Rolling Stones song and think about her.

Donations may be made in her name to Harbor Hospice.
