GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 49-year-old Manistee man was arrested by deputies from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on four outstanding warrants following a wellbeing check Friday, Aug. 2, shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 9600 block of North US 31, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

A person called 911 asking that the man be checked on because they said he “might be on something,” said Sheriff Cole. “Prior to the arrival of deputies, it was learned the suspect had multiple warrants out for his arrest. When deputies arrived, the subject was observed standing in the residence at a window. Deputies watched him run into a bedroom and attempt to hide.”

The man was captured and arrested on three criminal bench warrants for failure to appear and one probation violation warrant. Two of the warrants were issued in Mason County, and two were issued in Manistee County. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
