Two receive minor injuries in highway crash

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Two people received minor injuries Thursday, July 11, following a two vehicle crash about 1:40 p.m. at US 10 and US 31 (bypass) just west of Scottville city limits. Injured were two women, ages 43 and 75, both of Scottville. Both were in the same vehicle which collided with a vehicle that had attempted to make a left turn, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. Emergency units responding to the scene included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Fire Department, and Life EMS. Custer Fire Department’s extrication unit was dispatched but cancelled en-route.

Other activity from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, July 11 included:

1:55 p.m.: A 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a report of a subject who had reportedly fallen off a moped/motorized scooter twice on Custer Road. The man found by deputies sitting under a tree with the moped sitting next to him on Custer Road near Cable Road. He was uninjured and was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, third arrest.

9:31 p.m.: A 20-year-old Fountain man was arrested in the 6500 block of East Sherman Road, Sheridan Township, for two outstanding failure to appear in court warrants from Mason County.
