VICTORY TOWNSHIP — West Shore Community College has announced its 2024-2025 Performing Arts series. This year’s series showcases a rich array of talent, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
The series kicks off on Oct. 11 with a performance by the Michigan State University Bebop Spartans at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison St., Ludington. The band performs an electrifying mix of bebop, swing, blues, and soul.

On Oct.24, the magic of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” comes to life with the first of 13 shows at Center Stage Theater. The stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning animated feature includes all the beloved songs from the film. The original Broadway production was nominated for several Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Returning by popular demand, the Petersens will perform “American Roots and Christmas” at L.F. Petersen Auditorium in Ludington on Nov. 23. The performing group is the No. 1 show in Branson, Missouri.
The winter theater performance will be “Steel Magnolias,” running for eight shows starting at the end of February.  Concerned with a group of southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, the play is alternately hilarious and touching—and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the banter of its characters.
In early April, acoustic music pioneer Sierra Hull will grace the stage at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts in Manistee.   She has performed on the country’s most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry. She has also performed at The White House.
The season will round out with performances by the WSCC Symphony, Drumline, Concert Choir, and Jazz Ensembles in both winter and spring.
“We are thrilled to present such a rich and varied lineup for our community,” says Ted Malt, director of the Performing Arts Series and professor of music studies.  “This series highlights our commitment to bringing top-notch cultural experiences to the area.  Tickets for these events are expected to sell out quickly, so gets yours today.”
