SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville City Commission will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 23 to consider candidates for interim city manager. On April 23, Jimmy Newkirk resigned as city manager. Since that time, Mayor Marcy Spencer has been serving as acting city manager until an interim manager could be hired. The city’s charter states that the commission shall appoint a new city manager within 90 days after any vacancy exists. The charter also allows for the hiring of an acting city manager to serve during the period of a vacancy or during the absence of the city manager from the city.
