Delivery/manufacture of ‘extremely large amount of methamphetamine’ yields prison term

LUDINGTON — A 32-year-old man was sentenced to three and a half to 40 years in prison for a conviction of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine/ecstasy in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, April 9.

Dalton Joseph Verboam pleaded guilty to the charge Feb. 13.

“This was an extremely large amount of methamphetamine,” said Mason County Assistant Prosecutor Beth Hand.

Defense attorney Ravi Gurumurthy said the meth amount was for “usage purpose.” Gurumurthy said his client has been behaving well in jail and is taking advantage of programs offered to “better himself.”

“I need to start making the right choices for people who I love,” Verboam said to Judge Susan K. Sniegowski. “I’ll do better next time.”

“The negotiated agreement is fair and reasonable, and I will follow it,” said Judge Sniegowski.

Verboam received credit for 488 days served in jail.
