Whether you are new to parenthood or have an entire house full of kids it is important to make sure they have all the appropriate health care allowing them to grow and develop appropriately.

Chiropractic has been a key part for many families to ensure your child’s nervous system, immune system and musculoskeletal development stays on the right path. At Squires Chiropractic we have many options for kiddos of all ages and specialize each treatment to their individual needs. We work with safe, gentle and effective treatments to provide symptom relief along with preventive care for infants all the way through adolescence.

One of our favorite sayings is, “Once the tree grows crooked, it will always be crooked”. Our job is to detect any early signs of spinal conditions like scoliosis, spina bifida and other deformities that may lead to serious problems later in life.

The main question we get asked in the office: Is Chiropractic safe for newborns and infants? The answer is Yes! Adult chiropractic techniques and infant techniques used in our facility are different mainly in the application of pressure or force used. Pretend you are at the grocery store and you are checking the ripeness of fruit to see if it is over ripe or too hard, that is the amount of pressure typically used by a chiropractor to feel and adjust areas of the spine. Another way of making a real world comparison would be to close your eye and gently press on your closed lid to slightly depress the eyeball underneath. As you can see these pressures and treatments are light, safe and well received by the baby. We do our best to work with pediatrician recommendations and precautions to provide an overall health care approach for your child.

Benefits seen with infant care are:

  • Reduced colic, reflux and irritability
  • Better sleep patterns
  • Reduced ear infection occurrence
  • Increased bowel function
  • Improved crawling and movement development
  • Improved immune system functioning

Other benefits commonly seen as they age:

  • Faster recovery from injuries
  • Improved athletic performance
  • Preventing and correcting posture concerns
  • Improved concentration
  • Decreased headaches
  • Decreased pain and dysfunction

We are more than happy to take care of children of all ages and help them grow and develop into healthier adults. Our nation is moving towards more technology and less nutritional consumption which leads to postural issues and poor overall health. It is important for us at Squires Chiropractic to be a stepping stone in the right direction for better health and wellness of our community and all the kids we treat along the way.
