Police investigate tire slashing

SCOTTVILLE —The Mason County Sheriff’s Office investigated a tire slashing complaint reported Saturday, March 16, shortly before 10 a.m. at Thornwild Apartments, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other recent police activity in Mason County:

Wednesday, March 13, 2024:

  • 6:30 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 68-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a failure to appear warrant, 100 block of James Street, City of Ludington.

Friday, March 15, 2024:

  • 8:39 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Peterson Road, Victory Township.

Saturday, March 16, 2024:

  • 3 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hawley Road west of Indian Trail, Eden Township.
  • 11:16 a.m., (MCSO), scam, 300 block of Thomas Street, City of Scottville. The complainant reported receiving a call from a male claiming to be an “Officer Lewis” with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office advising he had a warrant for their arrest.
  • 2:05 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a Ludington woman was cited for driving while license suspended, First and Madison streets, City of Ludington.
  • 8:21 p.m., (MCSO), larceny, 2300 block of North 32nd Street, Sheridan Township. The complainant reported the theft of money from a home.

Sunday, March 17, 2024:

  • 3:08 a.m., (LPD), a 23-year-old homeless man was arrested for public intoxication following a call of a disturbance, 300 block of West Court Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 1:34 p.m., (LPD), a 41-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a traffic stop on three warrants issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court, Bryant and Washington streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 7:21 p.m., (MCSO), a 57-year-old Branch man was arrested for violating a personal protection order following a traffic stop, Blaine and State streets, City of Scottville. During the stop, the protected person of the PPO was found to be riding in the suspect’s vehicle.
  • 7:36 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
  • 8:25 pm., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
