Tom Lawler

Thomas Eugene Lawler, 76, of Scottville, passed away on March 11, 2024.

Tom was born on September 11, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Russell and Mae (Lyon) Lawler. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School, graduating with the class of 1966.

Tom could often be found outdoors. He loved fishing, picking mushrooms, bird watching, or playing with his dogs. Tom was also a talented guitar player, enjoyed playing pool, and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Tom is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marcella Lawler; children, Tom (Christine) Lawler and Katherine (Dan) Walters; stepdaughter, Melissa Palma; grandchildren, Madilyne Walters, Lillianna Walters, and Daniel Walters, Makayla (Ken) Castro Mendez, Malanah Palma, and Markel Palma; siblings, Don Lawler and Mary Kay (Chris) Hannah; best friend, Robert (Heather) Wabsis; mother-in-law, Esther Johnson; sisters-in-law, Veronica (Matt Stephens) Johnson and Tamela Grill.

Besides his parents, Tom’s brother, James Lawler preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with visitation starting at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family: Marcella Lawler.
