AMBER TOWNSHIP — Planners of the 29th Mason County Central Educational Foundation Community Auction are still tallying up the totals of funds raised, but they have declared the event a success.

The event, held Saturday, March 2, at the Graystone Event Center, was the first time it has been live since 2019. The auction has been exclusively online the last three years.

Gary Anderson of the Educational Foundation said preliminary figures show that sales were at $30,786 with 250 people attending at $35 a person, which is $8,750.

“We still need a final tally on ticket sales, sponsorships and raffle sales,” Anderson said. “We also will need to calculate our expenses. But, the preliminary figures show that the event was a success and will be close to net profits of previous years.”

The MCC Educational Foundation, exists to support educational programs and projects at Mason County Central Schools. The Foundation provides grants to teachers and activity clubs and awards scholarships to students. It also often purchases equipment for the schools.
