Obituary: Keith Livengood, Sr., 63, of Custer

Keith E. Livengood Sr, 63, of Custer, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Keith was born on September 6, 1960 in Downey, Cali. He graduated from East High School in Sioux City, Iowa with the class of 1978. Keith married Mary Light in 1981 and raised four children, Jennifer, Heather, Keith Jr., and Alison.

Keith enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, golf outings, and spending quality time with his family. He was always in teaching mode; he wanted to make sure everyone knew how to do something and do it right. He was a bit of a perfectionist, and he took pride in the work he did. He felt honored to be a big part of the Custer Sculpture Project.

Keith is survived by his children, Jennifer (Caleb) Whitaker, Heather Livengood, Keith (Caitlin) Livengood Jr, and Alison (Ryan) Quinn; grandchildren, Bridget, Emma, Hudson, and Hayden; step mother, Delores Livengood; sister, Sheli Livengood; and his close friend, Leigh Smith.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Norman Livengood; mother, Joan Masse; and brother, Darrell Livengood.

A memorial gathering will be held in the spring at Memorial Tree Park in Pere Marquette Township, which was a place he would often stop and find peace.
