Adult craft night scheduled at Scottville library

SCOTTVILLE — Adults are invited to attend craft night at the Mason County District Library Scottville branch, 204 E. State St., on Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Participants will make mini canvas snowman paintings with mini easels to display at home. The winter adult craft leader is Marie Bennett who loves introducing adults to beginning acrylic painting. Bennett has been teaching painting since the 1990s. In 2005, due to a devastating accident, she was partially paralyzed on her right dominant side. After many years of recovery, she is now able to paint with both her right and left hands.

Bennett is the 2024 Mary Freebed featured artist. Her artwork is hanging at two Mary Free Bed Hospitals, private collectors’ homes, and businesses. She enjoys teaching adults with no experience and watching their eyes light up as they realize they can paint.

Snacks will be provided. All Mason County District Library programs are free of charge.
