New facility offers indoor golf, pickle ball, 24 hours a day

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Golf and pickle ball lovers have a new outlet to enjoy their sports anytime they would like, regardless of the time or the weather. Michael Granger opened 24/7 Golf in September 2023 at 5756 W. US 10, in the plaza near the popular 10 Spot food trucks. The facility offers four indoor golf simulators and a full size pickle ball court.

The facility is not staffed, but rather monitored by surveillance cameras. Players sign in online and are provided a code to access the building. After signing a waiver, they can bring their own food and beverages.

On Friday, Jan. 5, the facility held an open house with free golf.

The facility offers an indoor pickle ball court.

Granger, who is a native of Baldwin, opened the first 24/7 Golf facility on Alpine Avenue in Comstock Park (near Grand Rapids) in 2022.

“I opened that facility at the end of 2022,” Granger said. “In the first month of being opened, we did more business than I had predicted we would do monthly three years out. It’s obviously a very popular activity that’s in much demand.”

The Ludington facility is Granger’s second 24/7 Golf location with another one planned in Acme near Traverse City.

The pickle ball court at the Ludington facility is unique compared to the Grand Rapids location.

“This particular space was larger than I needed for the golf simulators so I added the pickle ball court,” Granger said. “That’s been a great bonus because of that sport’s popularity and the need for indoor facilities here in Mason County.”

The new facility has received the endorsement of local golf pro Scott Ashley, owner of Lakeside Links Golf Club. Ashley was at the open house Friday offering some golf tips.

He said golf simulators have been around for many years. A downtown Ludington bar used to have one back in the 1990s.

“The technology has come a long way on these simulators,” Ashley said. “We have been promoting 24/7 Golf to our members who are looking to keep their skills up in the off season.”

The simulators offer dozens of famous golf courses from around the world. Use of the facility does not require a membership.
