Sheriff warns motorists of stolen road signs
MASON COUNTY — Road signs were stolen from several intersections early Friday morning, Dec. 22, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“Early this morning, Mason County sheriff’s deputies started responding to calls of stolen traffic control signs that include stop ahead, stop signs, passing and no passing zone signs and railroad signs in the Victory and Amber township area,” said Sheriff Cole.
Locations include: Stiles and Johnson roads; Conrad and Stiles roads; Fisher and Victory Corner roads; Stiles Road and First Street; and Conrad and Victory Corner roads. “These are the locations known as of now,” said Sheriff Cole. “The road commission is aware of the theft and is working on replacing them as quickly as possible. Use extra caution when approaching all intersections.”
Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call Mason/Oceana 911 at (231) 869-5858 or 911 and ask for Sgt. Adam Claveau, Deputy Matt Moss or Deputy Travis Haner with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
