LUDINGTON —A Ludington police officer “took a bite out of crime” Friday, Dec. 1, around 2 a.m. when he arrested a man —who was walking down the street wearing a shark costume — on a child support warrant, according to a press release from the Ludington Police Department.

The officer, who was on patrol, was northbound on Washington Avenue near Danaher Street “when he saw a subject walking wearing a shark costume. The officer notified dispatch that he was making a citizen contact. Upon receiving identification from the subject, dispatch ran him to check warrants. Subject had a valid warrant out of Kent County for child support.”

The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail on a $735/cash bond.
