Fentanyl possession warrant sought for man found sleeping behind the wheel

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A warrant for fentanyl possession is being requested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for a 40-year-old Pentwater man after he was reportedly found sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in a parking lot that was not in a parking spot in the 5400 block of West US 10 Friday, Nov. 24, at 9:45 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

• 9:17 a.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.
• 11:23 a.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.
• 5:20 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of US 10, Amber Township.
• 6:08 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.
• 8:16 p.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.

Friday, Nov. 24, 2023:

• 6:50 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of US 10, Amber Township.
• 7:47 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.
• 4:09 p.m., a 70-year-old Brethren man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrant, US 31 and Countyline Road, Grant Township.
• 4:36 p.m., larceny of a purse, Rodeway Inn, 5000 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. A possible suspect has been identified, and a report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.
• 6:02 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Free Soil Road west of US 31, Free Soil Township.

Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023:

• 11:30 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Schoenherr Road, Sherman Township.
• 6:45 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 4:22 p.m., a warrant is being requested for a 34-year-old Traverse City man for methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop, US 10 and the southbound US 31 on-ramp, Amber Township.

Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023:

• 9:09 a.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 north of Freeman Road, Free Soil Township.
• 9:31 a.m., one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, US 10 west of Campbell Road, Branch Township.
• 3:25 p.m., one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, Hansen Road west of Dennis Road, Amber Township.
• 3:27 p.m., vehicle slide-off, no damage or injury, US 31 freeway near mile marker 161, Summit Township.

• 5:20 p.m., vehicle slide off, no damage or injury, Fountain and Custer roads, Sherman Township.
• 5:52 p.m., a 52 year-old Irons woman received minor injuries in a scar/tree crash, Benson Road south of Hansen Road, Branch Township.
• 7:26 p.m., ​a 45-year-old Ludington man, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County and the driver, a 47-year-old Ludington man, was also arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County following a traffic stop, Ludington Avenue and Robert Street, City of Ludington.
