Repeat offender sent to prison for meth

LUDINGTON — A 51-year-old man was sentenced to 30 months to 40 years in prison for a conviction of methamphetamine possession in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Oct. 24, according to court records.

Franklin Roy Miller, pleaded guilty Sept. 5. He received credit for one day served in jail and was ordered to pay $198 in fines and costs. Charges of operating with a forged or altered driver’s license, driving while license suspended and operating without insurance were dismissed. 

Miller has several previous criminal convictions, according to Michigan Department of Corrections records. In 2019, he was sentenced to nine months to 10 years for a Mecosta County conviction of methamphetamine possession. He was sentenced to two years and 10 months to 10 years for Kent County convictions of first-degree retail fraud and third-offense operating under the influence of drugs. In 2011, he was sentenced to one year and 10 months to 15 years for a Muskegon County conviction of possession of a narcotic or cocaine less than 25 grams.
