Obituary: Susan Gividen, 66, of Ludington
Susan “Sue” Ross Gividen, 66, of Ludington, formerly of Rochester Hills, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Sue was born on November 13, 1956, the daughter of Gerald Peter Ross and Margaret Elizabeth Ross. She attended Shrine High School and graduated in 1974. She furthered her education by attending Northern Michigan University earning a bachelor’s degree.
Sue worked for over 20 years as a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Brookfield Academy and Everest Academy. She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church and took part in the Adoration Chapel. Sue loved to volunteer at the senior center and coach various youth sports. Sue loved playing pickleball and began teaching an introductory class to pickleball. Sue was an avid animal lover, especially Toby, Tanner, Doggie, Morgan, Sassy, Tutka and Dodge too.
Sue is survived by her beloved son, Steven Paul Gividen; brother-in-law, Steve A. Clark; nephews, Ross A. (Jenny) Clark and Garrett Kondrajek; and great nephew, Ian Clark.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Gerald P. Ross; mother, Margaret Ross McElroy; sisters, Cathryn Ross Clark, and Diane Ross Kondrajek.
Memorial contributions in Sue’s honor can be made to the Ludington Area Pickleball or the Ludington Area Senior Center.
A Mass from the order of Christian Funerals will be held on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, at 5 p.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington with Rev. Wayne B. Wheeler, Jr presiding. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. at the church.
