The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023:

  • 12:03 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), two-vehicle crash, Pere Marquette Highway and Us 10, Pere Marquette Township. A motorist was pulling onto Pere Marquette Highway from Walgreen’s private drive. “Upon doing so, a vehicle was allowing space for the driver to pull onto northbound Pere Marquette Highway, but they did not see the second vehicle traveling north as well in the eastbound turn lane,” said Chief Deputy of the Patrol Division Oscar Davila. “The driver sideswiped the second vehicle, causing minor damage.”
  • 8:54 p.m., car/deer crash, Jebavy Drive and Bertha Lane, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 9:35 p.m., car/animal crash, Anthony and Brye roads, Riverton Township.

Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023:

  • 4:54 a.m., a 22-year-old Ludington man was arrested for public intoxication and for violating a bond condition set in place by the 79th District Court prohibiting him from consuming alcohol, Emily and Lewis​ streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
