Obituary: Barbara Ann Gribble, 90, of Ludington and Gulf Shores, Ala.

Barbara Gribble, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Ludington. She was born in New York City and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. Barbara was the daughter of Dr. Wayne and Gladys (Hackleman) Carson. She was an Alpha Chi Omega and earned a liberal arts degree at Indiana University where she met and married Gerry Gribble of Muncie, Indiana in 1954.

The couple resided in Rensselaer, Indiana where Gerry had an optometry practice. They also purchased a beach house in Pentwater where they have spent their summers since 1978.

Barbara raised four children, Steve, Carol, John (Jayne), and Anne (Tracy Spurgeon). She was “Grandma” to six and had seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Steve and grandson Jacy. During their later years the couple lived in Gulf Shores, Alabama and at One Ludington Place.
