Girl, 15, brings brass knuckles, mace to Ludington High School

The girl allegedly made statements about ‘beating a bunch of people up today.’

LUDINGTON — A 15-year-old Ludington girl was referred to the Mason County Juvenile Court for bringing brass knuckles and mace to Ludington High School Monday morning, Sept. 18, according to a press release from the Ludington Police Department.

“On Sept. 18, 2023, the Ludington Police Department School Resource Officer received an anonymous tip through the OK2SAY reporting program, which included information about a 15-year-old female LHS student in possession of brass knuckles and mace spray,” states the press release. “The tip further advised that the female made statements about ‘beating a bunch of people up today.’

“The female was identified, located, and subsequently interviewed by the SRO (school resource officer) and the Ludington High School principal. Brass knuckles and a small container of mace spray were confiscated from the teen. A Mason County juvenile court staff member responded to the school, and took custody of the female. No one was assaulted or injured during this incident. The juvenile female was referred to the Mason County Juvenile Court for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of brass knuckles, and for possession of a weapon in a weapon-free school zone.
