2 separate crashes cause injuries

MASON COUNTY — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office investigated two separate vehicle crashes Friday, Sept. 15, that resulted in injuries.

A 42-year-old Custer man received minor injuries after his vehicle broadsided a vehicle that had attempted a left turn into the path of his vehicle at the intersection of Chauvez and Stiles roads in Riverton Township Friday shortly before 5 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Then shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday, a head-on crash resulted in injury on Conrad Road west of Dennis Road in Amber Township. The driver of one of the vehicles — a 61 year-old Ludington man — and a passenger in the other vehicle — a 59-year-old Augusta, Michigan woman — both received non-life-threatening injuries. They were both were treated at Corewell Health Ludington Hospital, according to Sheriff Cole.

The sheriff’s office also investigated a fatal pedestrian crash ‎that occurred Friday morning on US 31.
