Fire damages Custer Twp. house

CUSTER TOWNSHIP — Firefighters were called to a house fire Friday morning at 428 E. Wilson Road. Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the roof of the house, owned by Dennis and Deborah Krajkiewicz. Scottville Fire Department, Custer Fire Department and Riverton Fire Department were dispatched at 7:06 a.m.

Riverton Fire Chief Joe Cooper said the occupants attempted to extinguish the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters. Dispatch information stated the two occupants had been in the house for about 30 minutes during the fire. Life EMS was called to the scene but the occupants refused treatment.
