OWI III, meth possession arrests top police activity

The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Monday, July 31, 2023:

  • 3:56 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 55-year-old Ludington man was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated, US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.

Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023:

  • 1:06 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of Conrad Road overpass, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 6:40 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Wilson Road west of Tuttle Road, Custer Township.
  • 9:37 a.m., (MCSO), a 49-year-old Mason County man was arrested on two outstanding Mason County warrants for failure to appear on a drug charge and for an unpaid booking fee, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township.
  • 1 p.m., (MCSO), larceny, 3500 block of East US 10, Custer Township. The complainant reported the theft of items from a residence.
  • 4:08 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Forest Trail east of LaSalle Road, Grant Township.
  • 4:21 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Logan Township.
  • 9:19 p.m., (MCSO), a 23-year-old Branch man was cited for driving while license suspended, and his passenger — a 22-year-old Custer woman — was arrested for methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop, US 10 and Benson Road, Branch Township.
