C. Howard Hornung Memorial Concert is Thursday
SCOTTVILLE — The West Shore Civic Band will present the C. Howard Hornung Memorial Concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3 at the Scottville Clown Band Shell. Charles Howard Hornung was director of music at Ludington Area School District for over 30 years. Following his death in 2004, his family established the C. Howard Hornung Scholarship Fund to support area musicians who study music in college. The first memorial concert was organized by Tom Thomas, who was Mason County Central Schools director of music, and had previously served as a band director at LASD. Thomas passed away in 2022.
The West Shore Civic Band is an all-volunteer band that performs in the summer season. It is under the direction of Caleb Schultz, director of music at MCC.
