Man arrested on multiple charges after deputies find meth, heroin in vehicle

AMBER TOWNSHIP — A 36-year-old Scottville man was arrested on charges of methamphetamine possession, heroin possession, carrying a concealed weapon and fourth-offense habitual offender after Mason County sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious person call at the Meijer gas station on West US 10 Friday, July 21, shortly after 5 a.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“In plain view on the passenger side seat of the vehicle where the suspect was seated, deputies’ located unused needles, suspected marijuana, suspected heroin, and 27 grams of suspected meth,” said Sheriff Cole.

Thursday, July 20, 2023:

• 12:45 a.m., a warrant is being requested for a 59-year-old Mason County man pending crime lab results after suspected meth was located in a vehicle during a traffic stop,  US 10 near Larson Road, Branch Township.
• 11:14 a.m., two-vehicle crash, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township. A 19-year-old Scottville woman and 44-year-old Ludington woman, who were both drivers, received non-life-threatening injuries.
• 7:31 p.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.

Friday, July 21, 2023:

• 1:28 a.m., a 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a felony of third-offense domestic assault and fourth-offense habitual offender following a 911 call reporting a disturbance/assault, 100 block of South Wildwood Crossing, Amber Township.

Saturday, July 22, 2023:

• 10:07 a.m., assault, 200 block of East Hoague Road, Free Soil Township. A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office following a 911 call reporting assault between two males. The reported suspect is a 35-year-old Scottville man.
• 9:45 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles north of Decker Road, Victory Township.

Monday, July 24, 2023:

• 1:10 p.m., one-vehicle crash, Custer Road south of Sugar Grove Road Sherman Township. A 37-year-old Scottville man received non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle he was operating ran off the road, struck and tree and rolled over.
• 5:04 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, Nelson Road south of Barton Road Pere Marquette Township.
• 7:45 p.m., ​a 50-year-old Scottville woman and 59 year-old Scottville man were both arrested on outstanding felony drug warrants issued  in Mason County, 100 block of East Conrad Road, Custer Township.
• 9:15 p.m., a 67-year-old Scottville woman was arrested on an outstanding felony drug warrant issued in Mason County, 600 block of West Sugar Grove Road, Victory Township.
