Badger to offer additional crossings for limited time

LUDINGTON — The SS Badger will add a second sailing to its schedule beginning the evening of Thursday, July 6 until Aug. 6. The overnight crossings will only take place Thursday evenings through Sunday mornings.

The ship currently departs Ludington at 9 a.m. and arrives in Manitowoc, Wis. at noon (Central Daylight Time) and then departs Manitowoc at 2 p.m. (CDT) and returns to Ludington at 7 p.m.

The additional sailing will depart Ludington at 8:45 p.m. with arrival expected in Manitowoc at 11:45 p.m. (CDT) and then departing Manitowoc at 1:30 a.m. (CDT) and arriving in Ludington 6:30 a.m.

“We have seen a continued increase in traffic and demand for the additional crossing,” said Shelby Soberalski, Lake Michigan Carferry director of marketing and sales. “Many passengers have expressed how much they missed being able to sail at night and we are ecstatic to service our passengers in this capacity again.”

Current ticket holders who have day crossing tickets may change to an evening crossing by calling the Badger’s reservation department at (800) 841-4243 and request that change at no additional fee.
