4-year-old seriously injured in campground

SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP — A 4-year-old girl received serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the Sheridan Township Park campground Sunday afternoon. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 3:07 p.m. According to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, the child was struck by a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old Fountain woman. The child was transported by ambulance to Corewell Health Ludington Hospital then transferred to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. 

Emergency units responding included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Fountain Area Fire Department, and Life EMS.
