Two 78-year-old women injured in crash

EDEN TOWNSHIP — A 78-year-old Chase, Michigan woman and her passenger, who is a 78-year-old Idlewild woman, were both injured after their vehicle failed to stop at the Hawley Road stop sign at Custer Road and was struck in the driver’s side door by a southbound vehicle on Custer Road Friday, June 23, shortly after 3 p.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

They were transported to Corewell Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS.

  • 5:20 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Treml Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 5:27 a.m., (MCSO), domestic violence, 7000 block of West Decker Road. Hamlin Township. A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office following a 911 call reporting a fight between a father and son.
  • 7:40 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road east of Stiles Road, Amber Township.
  • 8:49 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Logan Township.
  • 9:28 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 10:49 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Stephens Road, Sherman Township.
  • 11:01 a.m., (MCSO), warrant arrest, Oceana Drive and Pere Marquette Highway, Summit Township. A 32 year-old Pentwater woman was arrested on two outstanding failure to appear warrants issued in Mason County.
  • 11:47 a.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $54.46 in fuel stolen, Ludington EZ Mart, 5900 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 2:30 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, John Harland east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.
  • ​3:57 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 36-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants for failure to appear for a show cause hearing in Muskegon County’s 60th District Court and for failure to appear in Kent County’s 63rd District Court, 900 block East Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 11 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Hansen Road, Custer Township.

Saturday, June 24, 2023:

  • 2:32 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 8:17 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 south of Sauble Drive, Free Soil Township.
  • (LPD), a 20-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated, intersection of Rowe Avenue and Fitch Street, City of Ludington.​ She was lodged in the Mason County Jail. (Time of incident unavailable.)

Sunday, June 25, 2023:

  • 4:17 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Bradshaw Road west of Riggle Road, Riverton Township.
  • 1:08 p.m., (MCSO), a 27-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while under the influence of drugs after the vehicle he was operating drifted left of center and collided with an oncoming vehicle, Hansen Road east of Brookridge Road, Amber Township. No one was injured.
  • 6:35 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Grant Township.
