Multiple shootings in Manistee; residents urged to stay indoors

MANISTEE — Manistee residents are being asked to stay inside as police investigate multiple shootings in the city with a suspect still at large.

The suspect is described as a tall black male with thin build and dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a green hoodie and jeans.

According to a press release from Manistee Police Department, there are multiple crime scenes: the area of 5th and Hancock streets, 8th and Kosciusko streets, the 300 block of 2nd Street and 9th and Vine streets.

“We ask that the public avoid these areas,” Manistee Police Department Chief Joshua Glass stated.

Two individuals were being treated for injuries sustained in the incidents.
