Convicted cat killer sent to prison for raping girl

By Allison Scarbrough, Editor

LUDINGTON — A 31-year-old man convicted of killing a cat last year was sentenced to prison Tuesday, June 13, in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court for convictions of first-degree and second degree criminal sexual conduct.

Brandon Matthew Jablonski pleaded guilty to the charges May 2 and was sentenced Tuesday to concurrent prison terms of 10 ½ to 30 years and five to 15 years.

The offenses occurred in January of 2023 involving the same minor female victim who Jablonski knew, said Mason County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Beth Hand.

“He will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to mandatory lifetime monitoring,” said Hand. “The defendant was on probation at the time of the offense for killing a companion animal. He was sentenced for that offense on September 6, 2022.”

Judge Susan K. Sniegowksi gave Jablonski credit for 123 days served in jail. He was ordered to pay $266 in fines and costs.
