Jebavy Drive construction to begin Monday

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Construction on Jebavy Drive between Johnson and Bryant roads, will begin on Monday, June 19 and is expected to be completed by Saturday, Aug. 19. The project will include construction of a right-turn lane on southbound Jebavy Drive and Johnson Road and an extended left-turn lane on northbound Jebavy Drive at Bryant Road.

The first phase of the project, beginning June 19, will be the closure to through traffic on Johnson Road between Jebavy Drive and Nelson Road, for about two days. During that time, storm sewer work will take place. The work zone will be from Jebavy Drive westerly about 200 feet.

Also, beginning on June 19, shoulder closures on Jebavy Drive will begin through June 30. No work is expected on Jebavy Drive between July 1 to 9, due to additional Independence Day holiday traffic.

Jebavy Drive, between Johnson and Bryant roads, will be closed to through traffic Monday, July 10 to Saturday, July 29. The dettour will include Bryant Road to Washington Avenue to Tinkham Avenue/Johnson Road. Commercial trucks need to use Washington Avenue to US 10.

Jebavy Drive will then be closed again to through traffic from Monday, July 31 to Saturday, Aug. 19. Detour route will be Johnson Road to Nelson Road to US 10.

Businesses and residences on Jebavy Drive will have access to their property during the project. The public will have access only to businesses and residences on Jebavy Drive during the detour segments of the construction projects. Through traffic will not be permitted in the construction area when there is a detour route.

Rieth-Riley Construction of Ludington is the prime contractor. The project is funded by the Mason County Road Commission and the Michigan Department of Transportation.
