WSCC offering summer Just for Kids programs

WSCC News is a presentation of West Shore Community College in partnership with Mason County Press.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — West Shore Community College is offering a series of classes for children ages 4 to 14 throughout the summer months. The first classes start Monday, June 12.

Called “Just for Kids,” the programming runs Mondays through Thursdays, with morning and afternoon sessions.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

From art and photography, to welding and outdoor adventures, there is a variety of exploratory educational opportunities. With the ongoing need for childcare in the area, WSCC has worked to provide and assist within the scope of the college’s mission.

“Last year, a smaller slate of class offerings was provided and the response was overwhelmingly positive,” said Cara Giammalva, assistant to college relations.  “This year, we have expanded our classes and already have students registered from Lake, Manistee, Mason, and Oceana counties.  We are excited for the kids to takeover campus this summer.”

Parents can register at westshore.asapconnected.com for classes that start Monday June 12 and run through Aug. 17.  For questions, contact cemitchell@westshore.edu.
