Hansen Road work completed

AMBER TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Road Commission has announced that Hansen Road, between Meyers and Dennis roads is now re-opened to all traffic. Construction, which began on April 17, was completed today with line striping. The project was completed about a week ahead of schedule, according to Eric Nelson, Mason County highway engineer.

The $850,000 project was funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation Small Urban Program and the Mason County Road Commission. Hansen Road, from Meyers Road to US 31 is considered a county primary road, rather than a “local” township road. Over the past several years, the Road Commission has been rebuilding the road. In 2022, it rebuilt the road between Stiles and Amber roads.

Team Elmer’s from Traverse City was the project’s prime contractor with subcontracting by Hallack Contracting of Hart, Dale Dukes & Sons, PK Contracting, CC Land Surveying, Marshall Concrete and Give Em A Brake Safety.
