Conservation district to host pollinators habitat workshop

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP — Mason-Lake Conservation District will host a pollinators habitat workshop on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5610 N. Poplar Street, just outside of the Village of Fountain. The event is free but reservations are required. The workshop will have in-class and in-field sessions.

The event will discuss the wildlife benefits of native grasses and wildflowers; inform about programs that pay landowners to plant native plants; and teach about how to plant native plants and where to plant them.

For Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) participants, Phase 1 credits are available.

The program is sponsored by Mason-Lake Conservation District, MAEAP, United States Department of Agriculture National Resources Conservation Service and Pollinator Partnership.
