Driver, passenger injured in US 31 crash

AMBER TOWNSHIP —A 54-year-old Muskegon man and his 56-year-old passenger from Norton Shores were injured Thursday, May 18, shortly before 7 p.m. after the vehicle he was operating failed to make the westbound US 10 off-ramp from northbound US 31, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“The vehicle left the road; struck a power pole; and rolled over several times,” said Sheriff Cole. “Alcohol and speed are listed as potential factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. LIFE EMS transported the driver to Corewell Health (Ludington Hospital), and the passenger refused medical treatment.”
