Obituary: Mary Moody, 95, of Ludington

Mary Lee Moody, 95, of Ludington, passed away Wednesday May 10, 2023. Mary was born on April 28, 1928, the daughter of Harley S. and June M. (Hillabrandt) Middlebrook. On December 27, 1952, she married the love of her life, Gilbert D. Moody. 

Mary was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She loved all animals and spent lots of her time gardening. Mary loved reading and was an avid golfer. 

Mary is survived by her son, Eric (Tracy) Moody; daughter, Gail (Rick) Heyse; grandchildren, Daniel Heyse, Andrea Samuels, Jordan (Tarryn) Lafreniere, Jacob (Elizabeth) Lafreniere, Bradley (McKenzie) Moody, and Ethan Moody; and eight great grandchildren. 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert D. Moody; father, Harley S. Middlebrook; mother, June M. Middlebrook-Cain; stepfather, Tom Cain; and brother, Jack Middlebrook. 

Memorial contributions in Mary’s honor can be made to the Mason County Animal Shelter. A graveside service will be held on June 9, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, www.oakgroveludington.com.
