Man suffers minor injuries when vehicle hits semi truck

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 39-year-old Free Soil man received minor injuries after his vehicle struck a semi truck that had pulled off the northbound US 31 off-ramp at Pere Marquette Highway Thursday, May 4, around 2:30 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other police activity in Mason County Thursday, May 4, 2023:

  • 6:18 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Victory Drive east of Dennis Road, Victory Township.
  • 10 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road east of Brookridge Road, Amber Township.
  • ​12:40 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 43-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by the 79th District Court for cocaine possession, 300 block of North Delia Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5:24 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $35.08 in fuel stolen, Airport EZ Mart, 5400 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 10:30 p.m., (MCSO), a 19-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County following a traffic stop related to a possible stolen car complaint investigated by LPD, Main Street north of State Street, City of Scottville.
