Police seek warrant for Scottville man who fled from deputy

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A warrant is being sought for a 38-year-old Scottville man after he failed to stop his vehicle and fled through a field and on foot from a deputy who attempted to pull him over Sunday, April 30, shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Dewey and Stiles roads, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The man is accused of fleeing and eluding police and driving while license suspended.

Friday, April 28, 2023:

• 11:25 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 59-year-old Hart man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for a traffic citation, Pere Marquette Highway near Oceana DRive, Summit Township. He was also charged with driving without a license. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 1:31 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive and Wisconsin Street, Hamlin Township.
• 1:34 p.m., (MCSO), a 46-year-old Fountain woman was arrested for third-degree retail fraud following an investigation, Walmart, 4800 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
• 4:47 p.m., (MCSO), fraud, 400 block of North US 31, Custer Township. The complainant reported unauthorized uses of a credit card at three Oceana County locations over the past week.
• ​8:45 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 45-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by Oceana County’s 79th District Court for a charge operating while intoxicated, 1000 block of South Madison Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 9:45 p.m., (MSP), a 25-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on four failure to appear warrants, 4000 block of Angling Road, Victory Township.

Saturday, April 29, 2023:

• 12:48 a.m., (MSP), a 40-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for probation violation, 3000 block of Johnson Road, Amber Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 12:49 a.m., (MCSO), a 35-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County for probation violation, 3600 block of West Johnson Road, Amber Township.
• 1:02 a.m., (LPD), ​a 34-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court on a charge of operating without insurance, Ludington Avenue and Jackson Road, City of Ludington​. The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 1:55 a.m., (MCSO), a 53 year-old Wellston man was arrested on an outstanding failure to warrant issued in Manistee County and was cited for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, Dennis and Hansen roads, Amber Township.
• ​3:01 a.m., (LPD), ​a 42-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct, 700 block of East Filer Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 4:22 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
• 5:22 p.m., (MSP), a 36-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for two failure to appear warrants, US 10 and East Tyndall Road, Branch Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 6:40 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Hansen Road, Custer Township.
• 11:32 a.m., (MCSO), a 31-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County Friend of the Court warrant, 1100 block of West Dewey Road, Victory Township.
• 2:34 p.m., alarm activation, Victory Township.

Sunday, April 30, 2023:

• 10:59 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of Custer Road, Sherman Township.
• 12:15 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Campbell Road south of Federal Forest Trail Road #8372, Meade Township.
• 1 p.m., (MSP), a 23-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant, Dewey Rod near Stiles Road. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 7:44 p.m., (MCSO), a 36-year-old Fountain man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County, 4800 block of North Cleveland Street, Village of Fountain.
• 8:46 p.m., (LPD), a 63-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court for a charge of failure to display a valid driver’s license, ​Foster and Delia streets, City of Ludington​. The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
