Riverton Fire Department pancake dinner scheduled for May 13

RIVERTON — Riverton Fire Department will hold its annual pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 13, at Riverton Township Hall, 2104 W. Hawley Road.

The event is a major fundraiser for the fire department with proceeds helping to offset costs not covered by the Mason County Rural Authority’s millage.

This year’s event will also include a raffle to raise money for 4-year-old Ray Anderson, who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

The $10 breakfast donation (children ages 6 and under, are by donation of diner’s choice) includes all you can eat of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, apple sauce, fruit, coffee, juice and maple syrup from Kistlercrest Farms.

The event will also include a silent auction, 50/50 raffles, and a bake sale.

“This event helps the fire department provide services above and beyond what our tax millage covers,” said Fire Chief Joe Cooper. “The funds from past events have helped pay for expansions to the fire station and the purchase of valuable life-saving equipment. It’s one of the premiere community events in Riverton Township.”
