Portions of US 31 to close beginning next week

SUMMIT and PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIPS — US 31 resurfacing will begin next week between Meisenheimer and Chauvez roads. The project will also include the installation of new culverts at four locations along the two-mile construction zone, which will mean total highway closures.

Beginning Monday, April 24, northbound US 31 will be detoured for approximately two weeks, then southbound will be closed and detoured for approximately one week in early May. Traffic will be detoured using Pere Marquette Highway between Oceana Drive and Pere Marquette Highway exit 166.

Cost of the project is $2.5 million.

For up-to-date traffic information on this project and others throughout the state, go to www.Michigan.gov/Drive.
