Driver attempting to avoid deer in road injured in rollover crash

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 53-year-old Fountain man received “non-life-threatening injuries” after he reportedly swerved to miss a deer in the road, which caused his vehicle to go off the road and overturn Thursday, April 13, shortly after 6 a.m. on Hansen west of Larson Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Wednesday, April 12, 2023:

• 1:27 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Walhalla Road, Branch Township.
• 2 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of the Meisenheimer Road overpass, Summit Township.
• 6:51 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Hughway north of Olmstead Road, Summit Township.
• 7:02 p.m., (MCSO), damaged mailbox, 11000 block of North Custer Road, Free Soil Township. The complainant reported that someone struck a mailbox with a pipe or bat.
• 9:14 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $48.52 in fuel stolen, Airport Shell, 5400 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.

Thursday, April 13, 2023:

• ​2:48 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 36-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a probation violation and possession of methamphetamine, 100 block of East Filer Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 5:15 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Hamlin Township.
• 9:09 p.m., (LPD), ​a 52-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving while license suspended, Delia Street and Pere Marquette​ Highway, City of Ludington.
