911 call reporting overdose leads to warrant arrest

SCOTTVILLE — A 33-year-old Scottville man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies on two outstanding warrants following a 911 call reporting a possible overdose Saturday, March 25, shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Thomas Street, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The man was wanted on warrants from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police, Hart post.

The following is other police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, March 24, 2023:

  • 2:22 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 south of Fountain Road, Sherman Township.
  • 7:12 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Benson Road, Branch Township.
  • 9:21 a.m., (MCSO), ​identity theft, 4000 block of North Lakeshore Drive, Hamlin Township. The complainant reported receiving a letter from a credit card company falsely stating the person had applied for a credit card. Upon inquiring into the credit report, it was discovered that numerous attempts were made by the suspect or suspects to get credit cards in the person’s name.
  • 6:41 p.m., (MCSO), car/turkey crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • ​11:48 p.m.,  (Ludington Police Department), a 22-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated and open intoxicants, ​Washington Avenue and Dowland ​Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Saturday, March 25, 2023:

  • 2:26 a.m., (LPD), a 37-year-old Muskegon woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated, US 10 and Nelson​ Road, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 8 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Lincoln and Jagger roads, Hamlin Township.
  • 1:59 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Lincoln and Dewey roads, Hamlin Township.
  • 8:59 p.m., (LPD), a 44-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by 79th District Court, 300 block of North Delia Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail. The original charge was disorderly conduct.

Sunday, March 26, 2023:

  • 1:19 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Angling Road south of Manales Road, Victory Township.
