Man arrested on multiple charges after woman suffers gash to head

LUDINGTON — A 63-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Ludington police officers for domestic felonious assault, assault by strangulation, resisting police and home invasion after allegedly assaulting a 33-year-old Ludington woman who suffered a gash to her head Wednesday, March 15, shortly before ​2 a.m. ​in the 200 block of East Filer Street​, according to Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski.

The victim was taken to the emergency room at Corewell Health Ludington Hospital (formerly Spectrum Health) for treatment. She also had scratch marks on her neck and bruises on her right arm, said Wietrzykowski. The suspect had some bite marks on his forearm and scratches on his face not requiring medical treatment. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
